Michal Podhradský (Animation People) and Martin Vandas (MAUR film) have participated in the first work meeting of CEE producers working on the RED BRICKS projects in Žilina during 25th and 26th June.
“This workshop, created on the Visegrad Animation Forum platform, had participants from Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia and The Czech Republic model a real coproduction network. Under the supervision of experienced dramaturge and the project coordinator Anna Vášová, the participants fine tuned their animated TV series project in order to make them relevant for other national television channels. After a common portfolio of mutually accepted projects is created, individual phases of TV analyses will follow. The analyses will determine if the projects will be accepted and taken into a coproduction project.
The long-term goal of the RED BRICKS project is to create a producer network for CEE and procedural models that would make it easier to communicate with animated TV series producers of individual national TV channels.
The co organiser of the meeting was the industry section of The International Festival of Animated Films FestAnča. This section hosted, among other things, a panel discussion on cooperation between television channels and funds focusing on animated film in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
At the festival, the VAF organiser created successful work relations with producers of animated films from Estonia.”
