The Czech-French-Polish-Slovak film Even Mice Belong in Heaven by directors Denisa Grimmová and Jan Bubeníček is among the three nominated films in the category Best Animated Feature of the French Film Academy of Arts. The second nominated film The Crossing has a Czech co-producer.
After being nominated for the European Film Award, this is another important award for Czech animation. The feature film produced by FRESH FILMS about two mortal enemies – little mouse Whizzy and Whitebelly the fox, who meet in the animal sky after an unfortunate event, has already been successfully presented at a number of domestic and foreign film festivals, where it has won several awards, including two recent nominations for the Czech Lion.
The French-German-Czech co-production film The Crossing (produced at the Czech side by MAUR film studio, a member of the ASAF) has also won a number of Czech and foreign awards and has a chance of great success.
The winners of the 47th César Film Awards will be announced on February 25. On behalf of the Association of Czech Animated Film, we keep our fingers crossed!
